Working in my workroom

Image
Since my move, I have been lucky enough to have a workroom that I can shut the door on at the end of the working day. Previously it had been a case of having to share space with my equipment and machinery. So now I have the luxury of actually being able to relax in space that is designed to be relaxed in (as shown in a previous blog) - sheer heaven! The equipment I have though excellent and of course, necessary, isn't the most beautiful to sit and admire, so it is a treat to be able finally to put it somewhere practical and hidden! A clever panoramic picture of my workroom, it looks a bit cramped but actually it is remarkably spacious, tho for some of the big gowns, it can be a bit tight!  My knitting machine station, consisting of an electronic Brother 970 complete with ribber and garter carriage - perfect for all the blankets I produce. Well, as you can see from the strapline, I do love a good cake! So here is a selection of some of the bakes I have made since settling in to my new abode. Here are some before and afters to show the outcome - much better, I hope you'll agree, tho I do miss the tropical island view every morning!  I have put up new shelving in the old ugly glass alcove to display all my bits of sentimental junk! I think it looks less like a serving hatch now, with the bonus of keeping my nick-knacks out of the way too (matron!) - perfect! A nice new comfy sofa that was hell to get through the doors! It is a replacement for the previous one that had a seat stuffing malfunction (it had no rebound and collapsed inwards, not very comfy - and no, it wasn't my fat ass to blame either, thank you!!) And the curtains were finally made with Prestigious Fabric ...
